Emmanuel, one of many names ascribed to Jesus, was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah, centuries before He came in the likeness of humanity (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25). It is Matthew who gives us the meaning of the name. Emmanuel: God with us. 

He identified with us when He became like us at birth and grew up among us.  He experienced our life with all of its drama, overcoming every situation without sin by living in a relationship with His Father.

He then, on Calvary, offered up His sin-free life as payment for our sinful life by dying in our place.  And now, those who put their trust in Him can experience a relationship with Him and the Father (John 14:15-18).  It is through this bond we can live a life of victory over everything life and the enemy throws at us (1 John 5:4-5).

Jesus is still Emmanuel!  

He continues to be with us today.  Via the Holy Spirit, He comforts, guides, teaches, and gives us discernment to distinguish between the truth and lies.

  • We don’t have to fear the future, because God is with us! 

  • We don’t have to fear the workings of corrupt politicians, because God is with us! 

  • We don’t have to fear the chaos created by greedy unethical billionaire oligarchs (foreign and domestic) who have hijacked governments and society with its wealth and propaganda media, because God is with us!

  • We don’t have to fear proclaiming the gospel, and standing on what is right, because God is with us!
